BRID’s exclusive technology uses a highly effective process called Photocatalytic Oxidation (PCO). This reaction is triggered by the energy generated by light. A precisely calibrated LED board shines on a nano-structured ceramic filter, coated with doped nano Titanium Dioxide (TiO2). As a consequence, electrons are released at the surface of the filter and they interact with water molecules present in the air, breaking them up into hydroxyl radicals. These hydroxyl radicals, despite being extremely short lived, are highly reactive: they attack and break down the chemical bonds of pollutant molecules, turning them into harmless substances.

BRID doesn’t use UV or UV-C light and does not generate any ozone

Unlike other air purifiers on the market, BRID doesn’t use UV or UV-C light and does not generate any ozone, which is, in itself, a dangerous pollutant. This used to represent a huge limit of PCO based air purifiers. We are able to overcome this drawback, and kick-start the filtration with visibile, low consumption, white LEDs instead of UV light, thanks to the secret recipe of the doped nano Titanium Dioxide.

Other air purifiers using HEPA and Active Carbons filters collect pollutants until filter saturation. If not frequently replaced, those filters produce an inefficient filtration and even re-release accumulated pollutants into the environment.

Our exclusive ceramic filters don’t collect pollutants, they destroy them. This is why there is no risk of a saturated filter and there’s no need of filter replacements.
